Brent Devost

Brent is a visionary who has the commitment to execute and lead emerging organizations to successful maturity through strategic partnerships. As Founder & CEO, he took The Edge School for Athletes in Calgary, Calgary, from humble beginnings to a top Canadian accredited school. Brent's passion for hockey includes playing at the elite college level, coaching competitively and marketing the sport of hockey as a business. Brent joined Lazer Sharp at its infancy stage galvanizing his extensive hockey and business network to develop strategic partnerships and assemble management expertise.

Jonathan Ward, Independent Director

Jonathan Ward is Chief Financial Officer for the Ferus Group, responsible for supporting operations and strategic objectives in Canada and USA. Prior to joining Ferus in 2011, Jonathan held a senior management role with KPMG LLP where he worked closely with private companies in a broad range of complex business transactions. Jonathan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in international tax and managing growth in accelerated markets. He is an active member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and the Calgary chapter of Financial Executives International.

Richard Thompson, Independent Director

Director, Intellisharp Canada Inc.


Richard is an Alberta-based entrepreneur who established one of the leading advertising agencies (Parallel) and Multimedia firms (Tiger Media) in western Canada in the 1980 to 2000 period. A longtime member of the Young Presidents Organization, Rich acted as the Canadian representative on the international board of that group from 2006 through 2009, eventually becoming International Vice-Chairman, Functional Committees. He is currently the CEO of Northern Visions Development LP and also leads Pureform Diagnostics. He has sat, and continues to sit, on a number of company boards, both private and public.

Sandy McLaren

CFO & Director, Lazer Sharp Technologies Inc. Director, Intellisharp Canada Inc.


Sandy is among the first shareholders and directors of Intellisharp. He is a 25 year corporate finance professional with a concentration in Sustainability, Economics and GRC. As part-time CFO for Lazer Sharp, Sandy works closely with the executive team to create the strategic and economic evaluations for the LP and its General Partner. Sandy is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is an active member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and has an MBA in sustainable development from Haskayne.

Mario Amantea

VP Marketing


Mario and the senior executives of ZGM are shareholders of Lazer Sharp. Mario is seconded to Lazer Sharp part-time, responsible for the marketing strategy to create interest, demand and recognition for the Intellisharp brand through the use of PR, Product Marketing, Creative Services, Advertising, Strategic Relationships, Event Sponsorships, and Social Media. As the Managing Partner of ZGM, Mario has spear-headed the branding of multi-platform entities similar to Intellisharp. Mario’s impeccable reputation in the global hockey community has proven instrumental in advancing Intellisharp’s development. Mario also serves as a director of Intellisharp Canada (2017) LP.
